The Ham Nghi – Vung Ang expressway section, nearly 54 km long, commenced in January 2023, with a cost of over VND 9,700 billion. The starting point of the project is in Thach Xuan commune, Thach Ha district, connecting to the Bai Vot – Ham Nghi expressway. The endpoint is at the intersection of Ky Tan commune, Ky Anh district, connecting to the Vung Ang – Bung expressway.

hn-va2.jpg On April 19, the Ham Nghi – Vung Ang expressway was technically opened by the Ministry of Construction. To date, the project has completed more than 97% of the work volume and is expected to begin operating the main route from April 28.

To implement the project, authorities had to recover more than 488 hectares of agricultural land, residential land, forest land, and other types of land. The total number of households to be resettled is 195. Cam Xuyen district has the highest number of households having to give up land, with 88, which are arranged in 8 resettlement areas.

In the first phase, the expressway has 4 lanes, a roadbed width of 17 m, a maximum speed of 90 km/h, and a minimum speed of 60 km/h. In the complete phase, the road will have 6 lanes, with a maximum design speed of 120 km/h. The Ham Nghi – Vung Ang expressway has many winding sections, crossing fields, creating picturesque scenery.

According to a representative of the construction unit, with winding roads crossing forests, fields, and lakes, the Ham Nghi – Vung Ang route promises to bring drivers interesting experiences.

If the local authorities arrange suitable and safe check-in points, it will help attract tourists.

The first phase of the Ham Nghi – Vung Ang expressway does not have emergency stopping lanes, only a few emergency stopping points are arranged at intervals of 4-5 km/point. In the complete phase, two emergency stopping lanes will be built. In sections passing through densely populated residential areas, the construction unit has installed 3-meter-high aluminum frame noise barriers, 20-50 m long depending on the location.

In addition to minimizing the volume of noise affecting the surrounding area, noise barriers also have the ability to shield wind, increase driver concentration, and increase safety for people and vehicles.

The entire route has 32 bridges on the main line, 6 overpass bridges, 2 bridges in the intersection, one bridge on the branch line of the intersection, and one overpass bridge at the intersection. In addition, the project also has 59 underpasses for people, facilitating people’s travel, animal husbandry, and production.

The entire route has one rest stop in Cam Hung commune, Cam Xuyen district, which is in the process of leveling the ground and clearing the site.

The station has an area of about 10 hectares, formerly belonging to forest land and agricultural land of 56 households. When completed, the project will provide basic services such as gasoline, oil, minor repairs and parking, with motels, restrooms, and restaurants to serve drivers on the route.

The expressway has three intersections, including the Cam Quan intersection, Cam Quan commune, Cam Xuyen district, leading to National Highway 1 to the center of Cam Xuyen district, Thien Cam tourist area; the Ky Trung intersection, Ky Trung commune, Ky Anh district, leading to National Highway 1 connecting the center of Ky Anh district; and the National Highway 12C intersection, Ky Tan commune, Ky Anh district, connecting to the Vung Ang economic zone, Ky Anh town.

The entire intersection has 4 bridges (2 overpass bridges, 2 viaducts), and 10 on/off ramps. This is an important intersection on the route connecting the Vung Ang economic zone, the southern part of Ha Tinh province.
